We’ve all seen Gangnam Style, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus go viral. Heck, we’ve even seen the Pope get far more media coverage than in years past. So, how do you go viral in your business? Is there crossover from mainstream media to an online business? If so, how do you take advantage of that? Is virality just a “hope” everyone has, or is there a method and procedure to going viral?
Fortunately, there are precise steps and systems you can implement to drastically boost your chances of going viral with your business. Here are six ideas to help you move towards viral marketing on the quicks:
1. Purchase the branding rights (PLR) to a viral eBook
Doing this allows you to offer a quality product to your followers at almost no cost (especially compared to writing a completely fresh book from scratch). Then, allow your followers or email list to give away this eBook for free to their visitors. Then, their visitors will also give it away. This will just continue to spread information about you all over the Internet.
2. Create your own forum that other people can use for free discussion
Allow people to use your forum software or site for their own website. Most people don’t have a forum they’re hosting on their site, or they’re too frustrated or scared about the idea of setting up an entire forum by themselves. When your forum or discussion board is complete, simply include a banner ad for your site or product at the top of all pages. People will be exposed to your ad on a daily basis and inevitably, some will click.
3. If you’re a talented graphic designer, offer free, quality templates with your name on them
Create a handful of web templates, graphic packs and helpful images and upload them to your site. Then, allow people to give away your free web design graphics, fonts and templates. Simply include your ad on them or require people to link directly to your website through their use of your gift. Make sure you include a link back to your site in the copyright notice and require downloaders to keep your copyright notice intact.
4. Write an E-book
Allow people to place an advertisement in your free eBook if, in exchange, they give away the eBook to their web visitors or email subscribers.
5. Write articles that pertain to your product or service
Then, offer visitors the option of reprinting your articles on their website, in their eZine, newsletter, magazine or eBooks. Include your resource box and the option for article reprints at the bottom of each article.
6. Look for web resources and information product sites that will sell you a license allowing you to distribute the product free of charge to other people
Look for those products that provide “branding rights.” They are most often referred to as private labeling rights products, or PLR. These are products where you can include your own name, website and contact information. When you’ve accomplished this, set up an email autoresponder sequence or social media giveaway where your most critical information is included in the giveaway item.
