What This Blog Is About

blog

The dream enters your mind…

And you begin planning to make it happen…

But it never turns out the way you want it to.

These statements aren’t far off from what I’ve experienced most of the time when following my dreams. It seems so perfect and ideal in your head, and when you try to translate it to the real world, things fall flat – sometimes immediately. It can get really frustrating, embarrassing and even cause tears.

I started this blog a few years ago, not knowing precisely where I wanted to take it. I followed the same advice thousands of other bloggers have heard of. It’s the idea that you should just “set up a blog and start writing.” Seemingly, if your writing is any good, things will start to take off, you’ll have thousands of email subscribers in no time and you’ll be making six figures from your passion.

News flash: It ain’t quite so easily done.

Now, in truth, I’m sure the statement above is not a true “news flash” to most, if anyone. If you’re reading this blog, first I want to say thank you. Secondly, you’re probably reading it because you have some interest in turning your passion of writing (or writing and leadership) into a livable income and an unforgettable legacy.

If so, you’re in the right place. This blog is about writing, sharing a message via the written word, leadership, monetization and how all of the above fit together. This blog is about helping writers lead.

My sincere hope is you’ve already found some content on the site to benefit from. If there’s a post you’ve already read and love, please share your thoughts on it in the comments below. I’d love to know more about what personally impacted you.

In the meantime, thank you again for reading this blog. Let’s succeed as writers!
